When a call becomes harmful, the safest order is often shorter than people expect: end contact, preserve the minimum useful details, report accurately, block, and escalate locally when the risk is immediate.

1. End the live exposure
Use Stop or leave the call before gathering more evidence. Do not keep the camera open to negotiate with a threat or capture a better screenshot. If the device will not release the call, close the tab or app and check the camera indicator.
Move to a safer physical setting if the person knows your location or someone nearby is at risk.
If you are in the US and need help deciding where to take a suspected scam beyond the product report, the United States video chat safety guide points to relevant official resources. A platform report and outside assistance serve different purposes.
2
2. Give the report usable context
The current report form needs a reason, a written description and at least one image attachment before Submit becomes available. Include the account identifier and approximate time in the description when you have them. State what you observed rather than guessing motives or exaggerating the incident.
Use relevant evidence you already have and can safely share. If you have no suitable image, the form cannot be completed with text alone. Do not return to a harmful call, fabricate an attachment or save intimate or exploitative material just to make the button work. Leaving safely comes first.
3
3. Match escalation to the harm
Blocking can prevent further contact through the available account path, but it is not an emergency service. For immediate threats, suspected child exploitation, extortion or financial loss, use the appropriate local authority, bank or specialist reporting channel.
A product report does not guarantee a response time or specific sanction. WhoCam describes the control without inventing an outcome.
4
4. Do not create a second incident
Publishing a face, username or accusation on social media can expose the wrong person, spread harmful material, or interfere with a formal report. Keep evidence in the channel that actually needs it.
If you are unsure whether a screenshot or recording is lawful or safe to retain, stop collecting more and ask an appropriate local service. The goal is to end harm and provide usable context—not to build a public case.
5
Choose the fastest safe exit available
If the live control responds, use Stop. If the page is frozen, close the tab or browser and check whether the camera indicator remains active. On mobile, leave full-screen or lock the device only as an immediate fallback, then reopen the browser to confirm the media session actually ended.
Do not stay connected to negotiate with a threat or obtain a clearer image. Note the account and approximate time after leaving. Those details help explain an incident, but they do not replace the image attachment required by the current report form. Ending transmission is more important than completing a form immediately.
6
Report observed conduct, not an assumed identity
Select the closest available category and describe what was said, shown or requested. Include approximate time and the account or session reference the product provides. Avoid diagnosing the person, guessing nationality or asserting a crime the available facts do not establish.
Concise factual reports are easier to review and compare with product records. Repeating the same report with changing details can reduce clarity. Add new information only when it is relevant and obtained without reopening harmful contact.
7
Understand what blocking can and cannot do
Blocking can limit future contact through the account path supported by the product. It does not erase media already seen, remove a copied image, reverse a payment or guarantee that the person cannot create another account. The interface should not promise more than the control performs.
Use block after ending the live session where appropriate. If the person also knows an external profile, review privacy and block settings on that service separately. WhoCam cannot control contact that has already moved to another platform.
8
Route financial incidents to the payment owner
For an official WhoCam order, keep account reference, order identifier, displayed currency, amount and result state. Product support can use those details to trace the purchase. Do not include a full card number, password or one-time code.
For money sent directly to a participant, contact the bank, wallet, card issuer or transfer provider through a trusted channel. A WhoCam report can document the associated conduct, but it cannot replace the provider that can freeze, dispute or trace the external transaction.
9
Handle threats and extortion without bargaining
A threat to publish an image or contact family can create intense urgency. Do not send more material, money or account access in exchange for a deletion promise. End contact, preserve the minimum relevant threat and seek the appropriate specialist or local authority.
If immediate physical danger exists, use emergency help rather than waiting for product review. WhoCam cannot promise a response time or enforcement result. The report route is one part of the response, not a replacement for urgent protection.
10
Avoid turning evidence into a second exposure
Do not repost a face, username or intimate material as a public warning. The content may identify the wrong person, violate another victim’s privacy or spread material that should be restricted. Send it only through a channel that lawfully needs it.
Before attaching an existing screenshot, remove unrelated account or bystander details without changing what happened. Do not edit it to suggest conduct that did not occur. If no safe, relevant attachment is available, leave the form incomplete rather than collecting more harmful material. Account and time notes remain useful context, not a substitute for the required image.
11
Protect the account after the report
Change credentials that were exposed, remove unknown connected sessions and review whether the encounter was linked to a public profile. Revoke camera permission if you do not want the browser to retain it, while recognising that this does not delete account records.
Keep the report or order reference and avoid sending repeated messages unless new relevant facts appear. Take a break before matching again. Recovery should return control to the user rather than prolonging attention to the person who caused the incident.
12
What happens after you report
A submitted report enters the product’s review process under its current rules and available evidence. WhoCam can confirm the route and explain what information helps; it cannot guarantee a particular sanction, investigation or response time.
Follow the prompts in the reporting screen you have open. If you receive a confirmation, save the reference before leaving. You do not need to contact the person again while waiting, and a lack of visible account changes does not tell you whether a report has been reviewed.
13
Keep the report reference and close the loop
If the product provides a confirmation or reference, keep it with the approximate time and account used. Do not reopen contact merely to test whether block worked. Review connected profiles and outside payment activity only when the incident involved them.
A later follow-up should add a concrete new fact, not repeat the same account in more emotional language. If the issue belongs to an external authority, preserve its reference separately. This creates a usable timeline without collecting a growing archive of participant media.
Once the necessary reports are filed, secure the affected account and stop monitoring the person through new profiles. Continued observation can renew contact and complicate an otherwise clear incident record.
